Raccoons are back!
Last night I was walking with Leo down the driveway. He stopped at a tree in the front of the house and started sniffing. This tree had previously been the home to Rocky the Raccoon and his family. About 2 years ago Rich caught -in live cages- 54 (yes 54) Raccoon's and released them miles away in the country. We have not seen a raccoon since. Well last night after Leo checked out the tree, he went running across the drive into the woods chasing an animal up a tree. I thought it was a possum or even a black mink -which we also have out here- but after getting a closer look it was a raccoon. Oh no there back! I am hoping that Leo will run them off this year. Well this morning I saw a raccoon running across the north meadow beyond the pond. He was alone. Was it the same raccoon Leo ran off last night or is it another, maybe a brother, sister, mom or dad? Leo was asleep so he missed out this morning. Here we go again!
