Leo

Welcome to Leo's Blog Page

We get a lot of requests to see and meet Leo, our 110 pound Maremma (Italian Sheepdog-guard dog) puppy, Leo. So I have created his own page on our blog.

Leo just turned 1 year old so he will continue to grow for about 6 more months. We expect him to end up at about 120 pounds.

We decided on this breed, Maremma, because they are very good guard dogs (we have a bad coyote problem out here and have lost many birds to them) and are great with children.

Here is a picture of Leo when we first got him last June 21 when he was only 2 months old and 15 pounds. What a sweet face.

This is Leo and his best friend Dandelion who was the same age as Leo. We had Danny first so when we brought home Leo they instantly became best friends.

Camille and Leo have also been good buddies since we got him. He loves Camille and his tail goes crazy when he sees her. Leo loves to go to work with Camille.

Usually Maremma's are not affectionate dogs but Leo certainly is.

Leo is a wonderful swimmer and loves to cool off in the pond. At the end of a long hot day my husband Rich and Leo look forward to a swim.

Our grand kids love Leo. Leo gets so excited when the kids come to visit his hole body wiggles with his tail. When he sees their vehicle drive up he takes off running to greet them. They usually get jumped on and a big kiss right across the face and mouth. Once the kids recover from his warm welcome Leo calms down and they all play together and hang out.He has to be with the kids at all times when they are here. When we go inside to eat and leave Leo outside he tries to open the door with his mouth. He has succeeded a few times. The kids always scream "bear in the house". When he does this he breaks the door knob and we have to replace it every few months. Here's a picture of Leo helping Rich fix the door knob.

Leo loves our grandchildren and has to be with them whenever they are around. Here is Leo fishing with our grand kids.

Camille and Leo relaxing at the end of a long, hot work day. Leo loves Camille and she loves him.

Leo's First Day at the Groomers
(he goes back tomorrow so they can finish)
Nap time at the Farm
The hour and a half at the groomers wore him out today:)
What a life these animals have at the farm. They are one happy bunch!

Leo after his second day (and a total of 6 hours) at the beauty parlor. He's so beautiful.
Rich said Alyse from the Pink Poodle fell in love with him.

As soon as Rich brought Leo home from the Pink Poodle Tuesday, Leo came down to the market to show off to the customers.

Many thanks to Alyse at the Pink Poodle for taking such great care of our puppy Leo!

Leo going for a ride on the RTV around the farm. As you can see Leo gets the front seat and I get the back seat. He is definitly daddies boy

Leo loves his daily walks through the woods.

The kitties like to snuggle with Leo and climb on top of him to sleep as Colt the kitty has done in this picture.

Oh...how sweet is this?
